Watching the America that I've known from my childhood slowly slip into oblivian, I can't help but become enraged. I'm agrevated. More than that, I'm at the point that I believe the early Amercians were, right before the Revolutionary War! Not that we are moving to unleash ourselves from years of tyranny, but to prevent it. What is wrong with our Republican Party? Where's the backbone of the Republic that built this free land? Why are we so passive and complacent? Does anybody remember being taught about Benedict Arnold? The guy who wanted to sell us out to England for his own profit. Barack Obama is that American. His philosophy of government is one that will move us BACK to the days of government rule and over taxation. Yet, the republican party continues to move along gently, to afraid to say what needs to be said.
Without trying to sound racist in anyway, because I am not. Being the father of an African American child, I hate the very thought of prejudice, but a point must be made. If a caucasian male were to use the "N" word, there would be swift judgement placed against him. He would be fired from any position of authority or place in the media. Yet, if a black male uses the word, the reaction is alot different. We have come to "allow" this demographic to use the term without the same level of consequence. It is the same between the democrats and the republicans. The democrats can scream deficit and yet quadruple it. A republican mentions it and we are crucified. The Dems can say so much to us and we "allow" them to get away with it. Better yet, we allow them to do it and take a back seat ourselves when the opportunity arises for us. John McCain as wonderful as he is, demonstrated this entirely during his campaign. He was so worried about how he looked to liberals and democrats that he held back on so many important topics. John was afraid of appearing extreme and cowarded (if it's appropriate to use that term for this great American) to the press. When instead, as we see now, John McCain needed to draw that line in the sand and make a clear distinction between our parties. Be an ingnorant fool if you want, but this is and always will be about partisanship. The day it's not, is when the total majority have moved over to one side, or are pushed. Those of us Americans who still believe in a Republican Government cannot be so consumed with being "correct" or "decent" that we lose our identity. The Republican party needs to stop worrying about numbers or trying to win over Democrats in order to get elected into office. So we lose a couple seats and have to put up with a president who trashes the country he leads for four years. This cannot be a battle won with diplomacy. Our future, our freedom and what our forefathers died for is to important to come down to feelings and images.
This world we live in is coming to the place where all things run gray. The line between what is male and female, what is marriage and union, a lie and truth is dissolving into an indiscernable blur. I had to grow up in a society that had taken prayer out of school because the adults of the time were to lazy to put up a fight. Now, my children are watching our monuments and national treasures be removed and disgraced. A time where being patriotic is considered extreme and service to the flag as domestic terrorism. Will we wait until it's late to undue whats been done? We cannot!
I want to see men and women taking office or running for office who are not intimated by the press. I long for patriotic Americans who wear the flag on their shoulders and speak with a clear voice. Sarah Palin gets the crap she gets because of the stance she takes on so many issues. Her words are not minced. Though at times they seem harsh, they are the words the very rocks of this country would scream if given the chance. We are against big governement, higher taxes, terrorism and governmental rule in our lives. We believe that this country was founded on principles and morals that must upheld. We do not think ourselves so arrogant to look back on our history with disdain as we move our nation into a socialistic society. Yes we are for peace in this world, and fellowship with our neighbors around the globe; but not at the expense of what we've fought for.
It's time to draw that line in the sand. Who cares what those who are against us think. We must hold our ground and speak our minds, just like they do. When we take over seats in the senate and hopefully get back in the white house, we must learn from those on the other side of the isle and use our time wisely. Get American history back in the schools. Grab hold of the internet and media to herald our message. Republicans need to be as hell bent on getting the truth out about global warming as Gore is about twisting it into govermental control. Conservative doesn't have to be the define they way we deliver our message. We can be decent, educated, God fearing indivuals without being weak or timid.
Stop calling this a grassroots movement. This is a movement that started over 200 years ago and a fight that will continue until the day this country is no more!
